Everyone should check out http://woot.com. Woot is an Internet retailer based in the Dallas suburb of Carrollton, Texas. It was founded by electronics wholesaler Matt Rutledge and debuted on July 12, 2004. Woot was the pioneer of the "One deal a day" business model on the internet. Woot offers one discounted product each day on its web site, woot.com. The product is available for 24 hours; it "expires" at midnight (US Central time) and is replaced by a different product for the next day. For the first several months of operation, the site only offered a new item from Monday to Friday, with Friday's item carrying over until Monday at 12:00 a.m (CST) , or until all items were sold. In 2005, Woot began offering products 7 days a week. Woot has a community of customers who share their opinions on the site’s forums. Products vary but tend to emphasize computer components and electronic gadgets. If you have not been to the site you should go.

On December 1, 2007 my wife and I brought our son to the Christmas Parade for Lake Charles, LA. We parked near Millennium Park at the Civic Center and watched the parade. After the parade my son wanted to play, so we went to the park. I was following him into one of the towers and discovered a pile of human fecal matter. This is the second time that we have discovered fecal matter in the towers at Millennium Park. The first time we went we even had to wait for a cleaning crew to finish cleaning before going in and there was still fecal matter. Something needs to be done about this after the Christmas parade there were a lot of children playing in the park and any of them could have happened upon it. Attached is photographic evidence of this from the day of the Christmas parade.

There is a story that everyone should read on CNET News.com about the RIAA(Record Industry Association of America) getting a bill through the House of Representatives. It is the House Education and Labor Committee's College Opportunity and Affordability Act in which an small section says that universities that participate in federal financial aid programs would be required to provide alternative offerings to unlawful downloading, such as subscription-based service, or technology-based deterrents to prevent such illegal activity. According to the article if the failure to comply by the university would result in some loss of federal funds. Which may result in lose of grants to students. This shows me the power and evil of the record industry and its lobby. Please read the story at CNET News.com or BizOrigin.com.
